Smith Park’s mountain bike trail system, officially opened in April 2024, provides about 7 miles of singletrack that spans a full spectrum of difficulty—from beginner-friendly cross-country flow trails to more challenging and technical segments. The trails include natural and constructed rock features, climbs and descents, and connectors that weave through the park’s terrain, giving riders a well-rounded experience. Because the system loops and interconnects, riding the full network sometimes means retracing parts of the course.
According to the City of Brentwood, this trail network is a key new feature of the park, complementing the existing hiking paths. For those considering a ride, here are a few things to keep in mind: helmets are typically required and riders should stay on designated trails per park rules. It’s wise to check trail conditions before heading out (mud, closures, etc.), especially after rain, and to ride within your limits—there are offerings for all levels, but some sections can get technical.
